ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

General Summary

Assists the project team by acting as client and home office liaison and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Responsible for assisting the project team with project delivery, controlling costs, and maintaining profitability for the projects by utilizing extensive commercial construction experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with managing field construction, maintenance, and other field project support activities.
  • Create, review, track, maintain log, and report issues to Project Manager (PM).
  • Assist Superintendent with schedule updates and 3-week lookaheads.
  • Track tasks and follow-up after meetings to ensure completed action items and tasks.
  • Verify that weekly schedules have been issued to the subcontractors and update in ProCore.
  • Regularly provides safety assistance to supervisors in addressing areas requiring attention.
  • Assist with closeout document preparation, coordination, inventory, and submission of attic stock materials at project completion.
  • Assist with compiling and issuing complete, approved sets of documents to Superintendent including addendums, ASI’s, PR’s, Submittals, etc.
  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of all pre-construction meetings, owner/architect meetings, and subcontractor meetings to include agenda preparation, sign-in sheet, and follow-up.
  • Review and become familiar with all contract drawings, specifications, addendums, alternates, etc.
  • Administer project subcontracts, policies, and procedures to subcontractors.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, Design, or Engineering (Preferred)
  • Minimum experience to include duties as assistant project manager, field superintendent, or Job Site Coordinator. Commercial construction experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • Prefer 3 to 5 years directly related to Commercial Construction experience.

Skills:

  • Experience using Procore software (Preferred).
  • Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time appropriately.
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-up skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to details.

Experience:

  • Construction: 3 years (Strongly Preferred)
  • Project Management: 3 years (Preferred)
