Position Overview

Our client, an international trading company, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized finance professional who will be responsible for supporting their finance and reporting operations to ensure accurate and timely recording of daily transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the FP&A and reporting team for the timely and accurate recording of daily transactions for the company and its affiliated companies in compliance with the accounting standards, internal processes, and FTA requirements
  • Prepare Statement of Accounts for the internal stakeholders
  • Monthly review of balance sheet accounts and clearing of open items
  • Build financial analytics and automate MIS reports as may be required
  • Streamline the Vendor master database and check the KYC documents received
  • Monitor and allocate disbursements on behalf of ownership vessels
  • Assist in the finalizing of P&L, Balance Sheet Accounts, and Cash Flow on monthly basis
  • Support in the Daily Fund balance reconciliations
  • Review and book received invoices in the ERP system business central
  • Identify, recommend, and assist in the implementation of best practices to gain efficiency and drive productivity
  • Analyse accounts, highlight, and/or prepare needed corrections for discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly SOA for internal stakeholders
  • Quarterly filing of VAT Returns
  • Controller for the Shareholder projects
  • Support in other accounting and reporting tasks that may be assigned by the management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduate and a Qualified Accountant (CPA)
  • 5+ years experience in companies in similar positions of responsibility
  • Analytical and Presentation skills to be able to well communicate the financial health of the company to stakeholders.
  • Keep a high degree of confidentiality and demonstrate high work standards.
  • Knowledgeable of the commodity trading business and or Dry bulk Shipping is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong research, and numeric skills.
  • Effective Communication Skills (Written & Verbal, in English).
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a high degree of coordination with peers and supervisor. Strong business understanding, capacity to learn quickly, and curiosity.
  • Organized and with strong initiative.
  • Strong Excel skills (VB programming/ Macros, not a must but desirable)
  • Experience with Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or other major ERPs
