Job Description

AIS Manuplas is looking for a Junior Project Design Engineer to join our team in Plymouth. The purpose of this role is to ensure on time delivery and cost targets are met by the generation of accurate job cards, technical instructions and communicating with the factory and customers as required.

Role: responsibilities:

  • Learn to produce detailed written work instructions for manufacture and installation of products.
  • Assist in creating technical drawings, using 2D and 3D CAD software packages, to accompany work instructions and quotations.
  • Assist with the use of Blender design software for project assembly models, installation instructions and supporting sales by creating project visuals.
  • Support CNC toolpathing.
  • Gain knowledge in product design and development, including data analysis and engineering research.
  • Complete structural and mechanical calculations.
  • Create new parts and bills of materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to factory.
  • Process project documentation in accordance with project requirements with accurate and concise reporting.
  • Assist the operation, manufacturing, and installation departments as required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Reliable and able to work independently.
  • Able to blend creative aesthetic design with engineering problem solving and design for fabrication.
  • Practical and demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Able to produce accurate and concise work to a high standard.
  • Experienced in manufacturing processes would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong organisation and time management skills.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week; 8.00am – 4.45pm Monday-Thursday and 8.00am – 12.30pm on Fridays.
