In light of the urgent healthcare needs of the communities we serve, we are pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of \(1500 for Medical Assistants, alongside an additional \)2500 for Nurses. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the medication clinic.
  • Participate in cross-training to assist in various clinics and regions, with travel coordinated by your Supervisor.
  • Review medication education forms and manage client medication refill requests.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for the medication clinic and psychiatric consultations in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Administer intramuscular (IM) medications, manage medication samples, and maintain accurate logs of all medications dispensed.
  • Assist with prior authorizations and ensure correct medication orders are verified, discussing any potential side effects with clients.
  • Conduct pre-visit nursing assessments, including taking patient histories and vital signs, and document findings in patient charts.
  • Perform venipunctures and other procedures as directed.
  • Follow the medication refill protocol and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Screen telephone inquiries for appropriate referrals and document messages accordingly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of unit facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of medical supplies and laboratory needs.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Practical Nursing Certificate or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in nursing is necessary.
  • Medical Assistant Certification is required if the candidate does not hold a degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience is required for those without a degree.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least two (2) years of medical office experience.
