Job Purpose
Role is to assist the senior management in driving business’s public policy advocacy strategy backed by solid in-depth economic and public policy research in terms of framing and implementation of new policies, review of existing policies, in line with business’s long and short-term commercial interests. Role also involves assisting various departments on key activities related to Business’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) related matters in alignment with investor and business needs. The role will assist the head of Public Policy research and advocacy in tracking, assessing and analyzing key public policy developments in India and globally which may have an impact on business and find solutions for addressing the same. The role will assist senior management in interactions with government authorities , investors on ESG matters at various appropriate forums.

Role involves pro-actively leading all co-ordination related to ESG matters and research related to the preparation of a comprehensive report and framework keeping in mind Hindalco’s long term objectives
Economic and public policy research and engagement with government
The role will have a three-dimensional approach/ process –
- Role will involve in depth economic and public policy research on key relevant areas impacting the business.Identifying, quantify and prioritize key legislation or public policies and economic environment that have an impact on business with potential risks and opportunities on a proactive basis. Keeping the senior management up to date with key economic and policy trends will be a critical part of this role.
- Work with various departments and business leaders to form policy opinions on various key policy developments and engage leadership on public policy/regulatory advocacy efforts.
- Continuous engagement with industry chambers and associations, research organizations and government officials at appropriate levels, to enhance their understanding of metal business and its policy opinions.
