Position Overview
The Training and Communication Specialist is a key member of the Learning and Development team, responsible for creating instructional materials, facilitating training sessions, and developing communication strategies that reinforce learning initiatives. They will collaborate closely with Sr. Director of Employee Success, Department Leaders, RDs, and DMs to assess training needs, refine content, and ensure messaging is consistent, accessible, and impactful.
This position is instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing, ensuring teammates at all levels have the tools and resources they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Learning Tools:
- Creates learning materials, toolkits, and resources to support ongoing development initiatives and strategies.
- Creates interactive and multimedia-based instructional content using e-learning authoring tools.
- Utilizes learning management systems (LMS) to create engaging and consumable e-learning training videos/materials.
- Stays up to date with best practices in communication and learning principles to continuously enhance training content.
- Analyze learning outcomes and key performance metrics in collaboration with HR and operations to refine and improve training content and delivery methods.
Training Development & Facilitation
- Facilitates engaging training classes to align with TruFit values and competencies.
- Leverage various learning methods (instructor-led training, virtual learning, e-learning, and microlearning) to ensure knowledge retention and application.
- Facilitates weekly New Teammate Welcome Call.
Communication
- Collaborates with department stakeholders to consolidate communication with field leaders and teammates, utilizing the Paylocity Community, Self-Service Portal, and SharePoint.
- Manages and works with department stakeholders to ensure documents are updated in the TruFit Information Vaults.
- Collaborates with department stakeholders to manage and update a company initiatives calendar.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in responding to HR email inbox inquiries.
- Participate in ongoing HR project work as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in training, instructional design, corporate communications, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs, both in-person and virtual.
- Experience with content creation tools (Articulate, Captivate, Canva) and communication platforms (SharePoint, videos, and email newsletters).
- Proven ability to create engaging and effective communication materials.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for clear and concise communication.
- Availability to travel and host live training sessions when needed.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, digestible training and communication materials.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills.
