Job Description
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or in a related technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in SQL and Data Visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar technologies).
- 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, Master’s degree, or advanced degree in a technical or scientific field of study.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, Javascript, or HTML for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
- Experience with code reviews, version controlling, and bug tracking tools.
About The Job
The Platforms and Devices (PandD) Market Intelligence team is a part of the PandD Central Strategy team, which sits at the center of the Product Area and helps drive Google’s cohesive product and business strategy. The PandD Market Intelligence team’s mission is to equip the entire Platform and Devices Product Area with the most accurate, timely, and insightful market intelligence data, reporting, and analysis, enabling better decision making and advanced business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders and users to build new dashboards and other types of highly-automated reporting spreadsheet and presentation software, from initial requirements gathering all the way through to final publication.
- Design business intelligence solutions to facilitate efficient sharing of Market Intelligence data and insights this includes developing data models, creating data pipelines, and writing reporting scripts following best practices for automation and maintainability.
- Perform Ad-hoc data extraction and analysis for the broader Market Intelligence team and key business stakeholders as needed, clarify their needs and requirements when necessary.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the data domains owned by the team, including product categories covered, market metrics covered, and definitions of all key market metrics.
- Provide ongoing support for users through maintenance of reports, queries, and dashboards with minimal guidance.
