Medical Laboratory Assistant Band 2

37 Hours

Salary Scale: £24,647 – £26,763 per annum

This is an opportunity for an individual to work as a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North-east Fife.

The Blood Sciences Department is based on two sites at Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School, Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth.

You will be working in a newly refurbished state of the art core laboratory with Siemens automation.

We require someone to work in our Laboratory Specimen Reception area to pick up, receive and prepare patient samples for analysis. Basic computer skills are required and you will deal with telephone enquiries. You will also carry out general laboratory duties. Experience is not essential as full training will be provided. However, previous employment in a hospital environment is desirable. Occasional Public Holiday working will be required

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
