Responsibilities

There is an immediate opening for a Research Associate position in the laboratory of Dr. Ed Seto, to study histone deacetylase, an enzyme that epigenetically regulates how certain genes turn on or off. The position independently carries out research/development activities by designing and conducting experiments in a controlled laboratory setting, under general guidance from the Principal Investigator. Using a certain degree of creativity and latitude, the core responsibilities of this position include making detailed observations, analyzing data, and interpreting results. This position compiles results and prepares technical reports and documentation of outcomes. This role is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Working under general supervision, this position typically reports to a Principal Investigator. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct scientific investigations and experiments.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Collect, prepare, and/or test samples.
  • Care of laboratory animals.
  • Provide technical support for other lab members.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Familiarity with histone deacetylase.

Hiring Range $43,888.00 – $64,601.04
