Responsibilities
- This is for Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing (OOCM).
- Content and Social Media Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive content and social media strategies tailored to key audiences, including prospective students, current students, alumni, and faculty.
- Ensure alignment with the university’s branding, recruitment, and engagement objectives, adapting strategies to suit different platforms and demographics.
- Leverage influencer engagement and partnerships to drive traffic to university platforms and enhance brand visibility.
- Social Content Creation
- Oversee the development and management of an editorial calendar that reflects institutional priorities and responds to emerging trends.
- Supervise the creation of accessible and inclusive content across all platforms, ensuring it resonates with diverse audiences.
- Promote content through targeted social advertising to maximise reach and engagement.
- Social Media Intelligence and Measurement
- Manage the budget for social media tools and platforms, ensuring cost-effective solutions that support strategic goals.
- Provide regular analysis of key performance metrics (e.g., engagement, sentiment, traffic, conversions) and report insights to the Head of Digital Marketing and senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging platforms to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
- Social Media Crisis Management
- Monitor online mentions and potential reputational risks, addressing issues proactively and collaboratively with the corporate communications team.
- Develop clear protocols for responding to crises, including guidelines for private messaging and public responses.
- Partner with legal and risk management teams to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
- Social Media Governance and Leadership
- Establish and maintain a robust social media governance framework, including a documented handbook for processes, best practices, and platform guidelines.
- Provide training to internal stakeholders on social media strategies, content standards, and brand guidelines.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the social media team and student contributors, fostering professional growth and innovation.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments such as admissions, student services, academic faculties, and alumni relations.
- Collaborate with external partners, including influencers and industry professionals, to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
- External Agency Management
- Manage relationships with external agencies, ensuring innovative and impactful campaigns that align with university goals.
- Evaluate agency performance through clear KPIs and ensure value for money.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant area would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in social media strategy, planning, and community engagement, with demonstrated success in managing diverse social media platforms and campaigns.
- Preferably experienced in both agency and in-house environments, showcasing a well-rounded perspective on social media marketing.
- Proven expertise in driving digital engagement within large or complex organisations, ideally within the education, non-profit, or corporate sectors.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising and mentoring teams, with a strong ability to inspire and guide direct reports and cross-functional collaborators.
- Demonstrated success in managing team performance, fostering professional development, and driving collaboration across departments.
