Salary: $75,000 plus 11.5% superannuation

For the position of Painter, SA Trade Centre seeks individual who is adept in delivering exceptional painting services. The role involves applying various painting techniques to enhance and protect surfaces, ensuring projects meet the company’s high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

The role requires technical expertise, an eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. You will also collaborate with other tradespeople and clients to meet project requirements and deadlines. Minimum Requirements

A suitable applicant should have formal qualifications (AQF Certificate III in painting and decorating) with at least 2 years of practical experience as a Painter.

In This Role Your Main Responsibilities Include

• Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling any cracks and holes and smoothening and sealing surfaces to prepare the area for painting.
• Erecting scaffolding and ladders, in compliance with work safety and ensuring safe work environment.
• Calculating the size of the area to be painted and the amount of paint needed for the area
• Selecting and/or preparing the appropriate paint or other substances, depending on the job required.
• Selecting and preparing paints by mixing accurate portions of pigment, oil, thinning agents and necessary additives to create the correct paint mix.
• Examining and refurbishing wall surfaces by means of appropriate materials
• Examining and maintaining painted exterior and interior painted surfaces, trimming and fixtures
• Applying the paint to the surface as per the work orders provided and ensuring that the finish is as per the work order requirement.
• Clean all equipment and work area after completion of work and ensure compliance to OH&S guidelines
• Read blueprints and drawing of the premises for execution of painting job

• Good understanding of colour theory and various finish types
• Physical dexterity to climb ladders and to stand for long periods of time
• High attention to detail
• Good math skills for calculating surfaces and equipment
• Exceptional sense of creativity
• Ability to work at different locations according to the project/contract
• Have excellent communication and social skills

• Construction White Card
• Driver Licence
