AI Engineer

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven AI Engineer to join our team at Precedent. In this role, you will help streamline and automate our machine learning operations, ensuring reliable deployment and monitoring of ML models and AI workflows in production environments. What You’ll Do

• Build and optimize software systems which use generative AI
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for AI workflows and ML infrastructure
• Implement automated testing and validation frameworks for ML models and AI workflows
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML applications
• Serve as a software engineering expert within the Data Science team
• Work with security teams to ensure compliance and best practices in ML systems
• Document processes, architectures, and best practices for ML operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or MLOps roles
• Strong programming experience in Python
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
• Proactive, thoughtful, careful, and quick learner

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS or other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure)
• Terraform or other infrastructure as code frameworks (e.g. CloudFormation)
• Programming in python
• Practical experience working with LLMs or other generative AI
• MLOps and/or LLM eval tools (e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow, Braintrust, HumanLoop)
• CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
• Monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Cloudwatch metrics)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range $130K – $170K with bonus potential, commensurate with experience
• Equity potential on a vesting schedule
