Finance Senior Controller Italy F/M

Reporting to the Southernl Europe Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Controller supports the business in all aspects: monthly finance and management reporting, budget, ad-hoc finance analysis.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting & Finance

• Work with the Italian accounting back office to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements
• Participate in the preparation and review of the IFRS reporting to the French mother company: P&L (monthly), Balance Sheet (quarterly + hard closes), and appendices. In particular, follow up the differences between IFRS and Italian accounting standards
• Provide monthly gross margin reconciliation
• Assist in purchase order process and monthly follow-up as well as strong support to various departments and operational users

Budget & Plan

• Provide detailed monthly analysis of sales by stores, products and nationality
• Provide detailed monthly analysis of costs by cost center and by cost type (staff expenses, communications expenses and other expenses) analyzing main variances with latest revision, and budget and previous year
• Cost control responsibility and recommend action plan for budget control
• Preparation of Budget and Revision in accordance with group requirements and timetable
• Participate in the preparation of the 3-year plan
• Participate in the preparation of the Budget presentation

Business Development

• Participate in the preparation of Store Opening Plans, together with retail and general managers
• Participate in ad hoc business reviews with Management
• Assist various HO departments and stores in ad-hoc business and finance control projects
• Involvement in internal audits

Finance & IT

• Participate in the implementation of Finance / IT projects on the controlling functions
• Reinforce Internal control and implement procedures
• To continually seek to improve processing efficiency and controlling capabilities of the company

Profil

Graduated from a Master’s degree of a business school or a university, you have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position within an international group, with strong background in audit or accounting. This experience has especially brought you solid accounting knowledge, ability to analyze, compare and interpret facts quickly.

You have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and a strong ability to communicate at all levels. You are a team player and are really customer focused (external and internal). Recognized as a self-motivated, pro-active and dynamic person, you have a strong business acumen and are a strategic thinker.

You are system oriented (strong Excel skills are needed for this position). Knowledge of SAP and Anaplan is a plus.

Italian and English speaking are compulsory; French speaking would be useful but is not a pre-requisite.

Position based in our Southern Head-Office in Milan.
