Job Description
Your Role as Director of Assurance: Embark on a pivotal role where your responsibilities will encompass:
- Manage complex assurance engagements and client relationships (currently no audits being performed)
- Assist clients with meeting their financial statement reporting requirements, allowing them to obtain financing or bonding, in turn enhancing their well-being and communities
- Nurturing and guiding team members, fostering growth and excellence
- Review and set strategic growth goals for the assurance department
- Active role in new business development
- Conduct research on accounting and reporting issues; serve as firmwide resource; provide in-house training as needed
- Oversee and ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Control Document (QCD)
- Ensuring adherence to company and industry standards
- Leading quality control initiatives and managing internal inspection
- Coordinate and facilitate external peer reviews
- Prepare and distribute comprehensive reports on findings and necessary corrective actions
Location: Any of our office locations (Cedar Rapids, Grundy Center, Iowa City, Tipton, Toledo, or Washington), hybrid, or remote (for the right candidate).

Requirements
Requirements: Skills and Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license certification is required
- At least 7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations
- Strong understanding of agriculture and/or construction industries preferred
- Experience leading engagements, monitoring time budgets and deadlines
- Client service skills that are highly valued even in a technology-focused job (willing to pick up the phone or have a meeting with client)
- Proficiency in accounting software and computer applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
