Job Description
Our overall aim to provide intensive rehabilitation based on a gender and age sensitive approach to care. The unit aims to enhance life skills and community functioning, support them to effectively manage risk behavior’s, reduce relapses and maximise their independence.
- To lead and develop in the delivery of occupational therapy to Rehabilitation services.
- To be responsible for the assessment treatment and review of occupation of service
users.
- To assess OT need and plan therapeutic OT interventions using the Model of Human
Occupation.
- To lead on the development of group based interventions, to aid recovery, promote
social inclusion and the discharge pathway.
- To develop partnership working with all relevant agencies/services/individuals to support
optimal care for patients
- To work in partnership, direct, support and supervise the team’s technical instructor
- To carry out appropriate assessment and treatment of allocated patients.
- To contribute to preadmission assessment of those referred to the RHS Care Hub.
- To provide clinical and other support to the RHS Care Hub.
- To work as an integrated member of the MDT.
- To contribute to service development and service planning within the RHS Care Hub.
- To attend appropriate clinical and management meetings.
- To take students and provide in-service training.
- To comply with the professional code of conduct for Occupational Therapy.
- To maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information concerning patients and staff.
- To be aware of and adopt correct procedures and departmental policies when treating
patients, dealing with visitors, students and other staff.
