Job Description
Our client, the Solomon Organization, is seeking to add to staff a Human Resources Generalist, with a focus on Employee Relations. This position requires a deep understanding of employee and labor relations, ensuring the best practices are consistently applied. The candidate will be tasked with adhering to HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and conducting thorough investigations into employee relations issues. Recommendations for improving the workplace environment will also be a key responsibility, aimed at fostering a positive and productive work culture. In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will engage with various levels of management, providing expert guidance and support to address complex employee challenges. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about employee relations and are committed to making a meaningful impact within the organization.
This Human Resources Generalist will work a hybrid schedule of 2 days from home and 3 days in the corporate office located in Summit NJ, so candidates must live within a reasonable distance from headquarters. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (some flexibility).
Essential Functions
- Mediate employee concerns and facilitate resolutions
- Investigate workplace complaints, ensuring a fair and compliant process
- Update and administer company policies, including conducting trainings
- Conduct employee engagement surveys and implement action plans to enhance morale
- Organize team-building initiatives to foster a positive work culture
- Coach and mentor managers in delivering positive and constructive feedback, as well as creating and implementing performance improvement plans
- Create, track, and analyze performance metrics to ensure accountability and progress
- Ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Participate in continuous HR improvement initiatives and metrics
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate HR files
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in employee relations
- 5+ year of demonstrated experience providing high-touch customer service
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Preferred)
- HR Certification- PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) (Preferred)
- HRIS/payroll experience (ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about employee information
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
