Job Description
- Coordinates recruiting efforts to obtain qualified Team Members, as required, including interviewing and scheduling arrangements with the requesting department management for exempt and non-exempt jobs up to the managerial level. Discusses requirements for various job vacancies with appropriate management. Interviews, screens and, where applicable, tests applicants. Refers qualified applicants to hiring supervisors for subsequent interview.
- Prepares internal postings and/or external advertisements with hiring manager and advertising agency, as needed. Arranges for appropriate posting of job openings and schedules interviews for perspective internal candidates with requesting department management on a timely basis.
- Verifies employment history, educational background and checks references of job applicants under consideration for employment.
- Responds in an appropriate manner and on a timely basis to applications and inquiries for employment with the Company and to unsuccessful candidates for employment.
- Coordinates and arranges all necessary travel and lodging arrangements to insure the effective recruitment of perspective Team Members.
- Prepares acceptance letters for selected Team Member candidates. Extends job offer by confirming salary and benefit information, starting time and date, and any details agreed to relative to moving arrangements or any other accommodations to be made by the Company or perspective Team Member. Schedules post offer pre-employment physicals.
- Keeps Applicant Tracking System and Job Information Line up-to-date.
- Conducts exit interviews with departing Team Members.
- Coordinates external placement agency contacts, candidate referrals and contracts. Acts as liaison with on-site temporary placement firm. Ensures all temporary placements are timely, properly approved and meet our needs.
- Coordinates unemployment compensation paperwork, timely responses and recordkeeping.
- Stays current with employment practices and techniques, local, state, and federal employment practice laws. Advises the Company management, makes recommendations, and implements approved plans so that compliance is maintained with appropriate Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action rules and regulations. Coordinates audit. Participates in ensuring company compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan.
- Assists in additional Human Development activities and special projects on an as needed basis. May assume specific duties on an on-going basis, as needed, in areas of compensation, benefits, training and employment.
Position Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related discipline desirable.
- Specialized Skills/Training: Must have skill in interviewing techniques, a basic knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices, excellent organizational, communication and computer skills and a basic understanding of the Company’s organization structure as well as working knowledge of Team Member policies and procedures.
- Experience: One to three years Human Resources experience, including experience in interviewing, recruitment and/or general employment activities.
