Summary

The Director of Operations is the leader of the entire operations team. This position works under the owner/President to oversee the day-to-day operations leading all team members to complete the company’s goals in a safe, professional, and quality way. This position will work daily with our production team, office staff, trade partners, code officials, and clients throughout the preconstruction, construction, and warranty process. This leadership position is unique and requires an individual who is highly organized, possesses an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of custom home building and is technologically savvy. An ideal applicant will have strong leadership abilities, a minimum of 10 years of previous experience in residential construction, and demonstrated ability to manage a team successfully. This position will oversee all aspects of production including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and implementation. This includes strategic responsibility for developing both short- and long-term production goals. Responsibilities

  • Lead day to day administration and operation of the business
  • Budget and schedule management
  • People management effectively and efficiently lead the entire operations team, while holding all team members accountable
  • Manage company revenue and margin goals
  • Build long term relationships with new and existing trade partners
  • Quality control over operations activities both in production and office operations
  • Preconstruction work includes: client meetings, construction knowledge resource, plan development, checks on engineering, and architectural design development with client budget goals in mind, support Director of Preconstruction
  • Manage team to meet goals for project success metrics. This includes client satisfaction, budget, profit margin, quality control and schedule on all projects.
  • Responsible for professional development/training of the team, focused on company goals and values
  • Responsible for project estimating/pricing process, ensuring that all projects are priced accurately and reflect the company and client goals for the project. Includes review of: bids, specifications, pricing accuracy, client proposals, and contracts.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance checks to guarantee all project documentation and task execution consistently meets high standards.
  • Lead weekly operations meetings to ensure employee engagement, responsible for monthly check ins with direct reports and annual reviews.
  • Monthly check in with company owner on budget updates and financials. Ability to develop a robust reporting process.
