Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Head of Business Operations to lead our business teams and drive efficiency and growth. Turfsport, a leading company in the sports betting and gambling industry in South Africa, is looking for a professional with a deep understanding of the both retail and online industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to implement operational excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Process Development and Management
    • Design, implement, and optimize operational and business processes to maximize efficiency and business outcomes
    • Lead and oversee key business teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and delivering results
    • Translating the company’s strategic goals into actionable operational strategies to support the company’s growth initiatives
  • Financial Performance
    • Managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial sustainability
    • Tracking financial and operational KPIs to ensure profitability and minimize risks
  • Integration and Business Development
    • Oversee platform integrations and new business projects, ensuring successful execution and seamless operations
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define priorities, allocate resources, and manage timelines for critical projects
    • Actively participate in business negotiations and represent company interests in strategic partnerships
  • Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Communication
    • Building a strong corporate culture based on performance and teamwork
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments. Act as a key liaison for resolving issues and addressing challenges across multiple teams and projects
  • Risk Management and Performance Monitoring
    • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks while maintaining business continuity
    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure the company achieves its financial and operational goals
    • Implement best practices to ensure sustained business growth and efficiency
  • Change Management
    • Ensuring the company’s flexibility and ability to adapt to market or strategic changes

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven track record in the similar position in the sports betting or iGaming industry
  • Driven, self-starter personality with desire to achieve more
  • The ability to see the big picture and identify key areas for growth
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing, building and optimizing scalable business processes to achieve financial and strategic results
  • Solid experience in budgeting, analysis, and cost management, with a focus on achieving profitability
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams in a high-pressure environment
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders effectively
  • Reporting to the CEO and the board of the Company
