Based in Hamilton, with several NZ sites and international offices in the UK, Ireland, and Australia, we provide world-renowned genetics and technology products, empowering dairy farmers to create more sustainable and profitable farms.
About The Role
The role reports to the Health, Safety & Environment Manager and you will support the continuous improvement of LIC’s safety performance and ensure compliance with H&S legislation. You will support a positive safety culture and raise safety awareness. Some of your key focus areas include:
- Support the implementation of the LIC Health & Safety strategy in all LIC business units.
- Support the development and implementation of Business Unit Health & Safety plans.
- Provide H&S advice to managers in LIC’s business units that align with good practice, LIC’s policies and processes, and overall business objectives.
- Actively support, educate and train managers and employees on the management of workplace risks.
- Lead and/or support risk control verifications and incident investigations.
- Conduct H&S compliance audits across LIC’s business units, educate employees throughout to ensure understanding, and guide managers on how to address any shortcomings identified during audits.
- Attend and/or monitor H&S committee and other relevant safety meetings.
- Act as subject matter expert in the use of LIC’s electronic health & safety management platform.

You will also need to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
- Significant knowledge of current health & safety legislation and practices.
- A good understanding of relevant H&S standards such as ISO 45001 or the ACC Accredited Employer Programme H&S standard.
- Strong training and presentation skills.
- Great organisation and time management skills.
- Experience in agriculture or other primary industries (desirable, but not essential).
