Business Analyst – Product Management

Job Description

Overview

Lead discussions to drive business solutions with users, Market Teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to enable product delivery and value driven efforts. Translate the “what” from the business needs into business and systesm behaviors. Create user stories, business process flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria to support the development and delivery of products and features.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Product Owner in defining Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and project scope.
  • Gather and define business behavior and customer needs from stakeholders, users, and subject matter experts.
  • Translate identified business processes workflows, creating multiple workflows for different user personas as needed.
  • Decompose information from multiple sources and assist Product Owner to gain acceptance from all stakeholders on proposed business solution.
  • Understand and assist Product Owner to control scope throughout delivery.
  • Align product strategy to proposed business solutions resolving conflicts to define an acceptable MVP.
  • Incorporate control partner requirements (e.g. Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc.) to satisfy the needs of the product throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product Owner to ensure readiness of Product Backlog for current and future sprints.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as Iteration/Release Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospection, Sprint Review, and Daily stand-up.
  • Provide subject matter proficiency in specific functional areas, including user behavior and customer experience.
  • Facilitates requirements gathering sessions to identify business and technical requirements for simple to moderately complex technology, research and business initiatives.
  • Uses a variety of analytical techniques to gather and analyze requirements (e.g. facilitated workshops, document analysis, surveys, use cases, workflow analysis, observations, etc.).
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and participate in production support to assist with expected system behavior.
  • Take on multiple projects simultaneously as needed
  • Other duties as assigned in support of this position’s function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in or equivalent experience – Preferred
  • 4 years of experience in Business analysis or other experience resulting in subject matter expertise in domain; previous experience working in Agile or similar methodology; writing client facing documentation and/or user stories/acceptance criteria.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $60,410.00 – $94,930.00. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
