Currently, we are looking to add a Controller to the team:

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Responsible for credit, collections, and accounts payable. Manage a staff of three and develop a cadence of reporting to give visibility to those areas.
  • Oversee and contribute to the timely close of Cayman Chemical each month. Prepare monthly consolidation of Cayman Chemical and five related legal entities. Prepare supporting reconciliations, including reconciling bank and intercompany accounts.
  • Assist Cayman’s leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process. Improve upon the monthly review of actual results to identify and explain variances to plan and last year.
  • Prepare or contribute to quarterly and annual deliverables, including bank reporting, ownership distributions, and estimated tax payments.
  • Lead the annual audit.
  • Maintain and improve upon the system of internal controls to ensure the integrity of accounting information, ensure proper receipt and disbursement of funds, proper authorization of transactions and activities, and safeguard assets.
  • Manage accounting for project work done under government grants. Ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets and submit for government reimbursement as appropriate.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the CFO.
  • Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
  • Experience: 10 years of related experience
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
  • Strong computer skills – (Microsoft D365, Excel, Avalara Sales Tax, CertCapture, Word, Office, PowerPoint, MediusFlow, Concur, Vena Budgeting & Planning)
  • Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours
