Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid – London

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our Decus Direct Development Team. Decus Direct is a custom-built online quote, bind and formal documentation issuance platform, that also offers a range of analytics to assist with underwriting, portfolio analysis and product performance. This role will bridge the gap between the Business and the Software Development Team, ensuring that business requirements are realized in every Initiative. It is an exciting time to join the Team as we grow and embark on a multi-year modernization programme.
The Day To Day
- To partner & collaborate with stakeholders across the business and to ensure clear and transparent communication.
- To investigate and develop solutions to business problems leading to improved outcomes for our stakeholders.
- To determine and document user requirements.
- To translate business requirements into clear and actionable functional specifications for the Development Team.
- To define the acceptance criteria and ensure that this reflected and addressed by the testing.
- To support User Acceptance Testing and ensure that the final product meets stakeholder expectations.
- To participate in agile ceremonies.
- To author and update internal and external documentation as required.
- To support in the management, refinement & prioritization of the backlog.
- To review and continually improve system processes.
- To assist with other initiatives as required.
About You
- Experience as a Business Analyst in a Software Development Team.
- Insurance experience is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
- Experience with business process modelling and requirements gathering techniques.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively within and across diverse teams. Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability: Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyse information skillfully.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, with limited direction and guidance.
- Experience with DevOps is advantageous
- Knowledge of JavaScript is advantageous
