Lyon College invites applications for the Administrative Assistant to the Registrar position, starting in February 2025. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growing institution committed to inspiring curiosity. The salary range is $28,000-$32,000, depending on a candidate’s experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (required); associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Experience working in an administrative or clerical role, ideally in a higher education setting.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on assisting students and faculty.
- Knowledge and experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.) (required)
- Experience with student information systems (SIS) (desired)
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
- Enter and update student academic records in the institution’s student information system (SIS) with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with maintaining student files, processing forms, and handling sensitive information in compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
- Help manage records related to course registration, grade submissions, graduation applications, and transcript requests.
- Provide guidance to students on matters related to course registration, add/drop procedures, and academic deadlines.
- Assist in managing the registration process, including helping students with registration procedures, troubleshooting issues, and answering questions.
