Mechanical Designer

The qualified candidate will work with our engineering, marketing, production, and quality departments for both continuing improvements on existing industrial heating and cooling equipment, as well as on new designs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Modeling of parts in 3D cad software, both creating new assemblies, and making changes to existing parts and assemblies
• Maintenance and creation of BOM’s
• Writing and implementing ECR’s and ECN’s
• Document control and drawing revisions
• Provide necessary support for the Manufacturing Department
• Use of creative thinking to develop innovative improvements

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience designing sheet metal and mechanical parts
• Proficiency using solid modeling software (we use Solid Edge)
• Ability to quickly learn Solid Edge if experience is with a different software
• Experience designing sheet metal parts, and incorporating mechanical parts into their design
• Ability to create BOM, manufacturing, and assembly documentation
• Ability to work with our fabrication shop to optimize the design for efficient manufacturability
• Experience with Sage or other MRP system a plus

Education/Certification

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or

Manufacturing engineering required.

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering with sufficient mechanical design experience considered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a light manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally high for short durations of time with noise from impact tools and forklift. Work is performed in an enclosed shop environment with adequate air circulation.
