Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position. We will not review resumes in lieu of Experience and Education listed on the application.
To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
- Knowledgeable on reviewing and administering conservation agreements and conservation easements.
- Knowledgeable with ArcGIS or similar mapping software.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated experience managing and organizing large amounts of files/data.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to traverse rough and uneven terrain and endure unfavorable work environments.
- General knowledge of USDA and NCDA&CS agricultural landowner assistance programs.
- Ability to advise potential clients of protocols and procedures for the education, solicitation, and participation of farmers, ranchers, foresters or private landowners for agriculture/forestry conservation agreements and easements.
- Ability to research and resolve problems and follow through on projects with minimum direction.
- Ability to work with a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently research and implement best practices and regulations for North Carolina Agriculture and Agribusiness.
Management Preferences
- Knowledgeable in approving appraisals, surveys, and environmental assessment.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.
Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
