FMC is looking for an experienced medical office administrator with medical billing/coding skills for a primary care/family medicine clinic. The ideal candidate will have customer service oriented personality with positive energy, who will welcome our patients and help them feel at home. Our stress-free Scottsdale integrative medicine clinic will welcome an individual who will be a face of the primary care practice with concierge services. Responsibilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Assume responsibilities for all aspects of front office and assisting back office.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient and responsive patient flow system.
  • Ability to recognize challenges before they occur and proactively address to effectively manage it.
  • Handle front desk duties, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
  • Manage a team of office staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Ensure phone etiquette is maintained by all staff members and handle any issues or concerns related to phone systems.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of office staff.
  • Ability to effectively handle scheduling to maximize productivity by ensuring minimal clinician “downtime” due to patient cancellations/no shows.
  • Assume Medical Assistant responsibilities when needed
  • Research and consolidate information required for analysis of revenue cycle operations.
  • Benefits and eligibility verification and insurance updates.
  • Obtain and document insurance pre-authorizations in patient accounts.
  • Ensure coding accuracy, and daily clean claim submission.
  • Complete daily requests for additional information, medical records, etc. from insurance companies.
  • Read and interpret insurance explanation of benefits and accurately post service reimbursement to patient accounts.
  • Follow/resolve denials, under-pays and over-pays.
  • Identify opportunities and areas for front-end improvement to affect favorable reimbursement outcomes.
  • Resolve patient insurance concerns and account balances.
  • Utilize reports to follow-up on aging claims/encounters.
  • Collecting, handling, posting payments, generating patient’s statements, etc
  • Prepare charts for clinic verifying referrals/authorizations are obtained for the appropriate insurance plans and obtaining pertinent information relating to patient visit.
  • Experience with medical billing, credentialing, contracting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining SOPs and be responsible for all aspects of being compliant with Health Department.
  • Manage and organize files, ensuring proper documentation and record keeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interact with IT, phone system, EHR portal, office personnel, etc

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with EClinical Works (ECW)
  • Proven experience in medical office management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work

Pay: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour
