Foam Fabricator

The SKB Cases Custom Shop is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and detail-oriented person to fabricate custom foam inserts for a variety of applications within our protective hard cases. As a Foam Fabricator, you will be expected to work closely with the Custom Shop Manager to translate foam design drawings into working custom foam inserts using fabrication equipment.

This is a full-time position – Monday through Friday, weekends off.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working directly with the Custom Shop Manager on all foam related projects
• Reading and understanding CAD drawings and assembly instructions to produce desired products
• Safely operating foam fabrication equipment (bandsaws, waterjet CNC, laser cutter, glue equipment, etc.) to produce prototypes and small production runs
• Interfacing with other fabricators, production managers, and quality assurance personnel
• Cleaning and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
• Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work safely with fabrication equipment and hand tools
• Must be able to read units of measure and accurately record detailed information
• Understanding and compliance with all safety rules and practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
• Some computer experience with a willingness to learn operational software
• Excellent multitasking and analytical skills
• Education/experience in engineering, drafting, packaging or relevant field preferred
