Responsibilities
The Information Systems Liaison has primary responsibility for the implementation of research applications and ensuring that software developed meets users’ needs across the three Mayo campuses. As the liaison between research applications and end user personnel, incumbents lead and/or participate in work groups/project forums and serve on multiple committees related to research projects utilizing their in-depth knowledge of research processes and specified applications to ensure clear communication between all involved. Other key responsibilities include providing input and support for process/workflow analysis, design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of multiple applications.
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare or related field with 5 years experience in a research/IT/business administration setting OR 8 years of experience in a research setting/IT/Business Administration. A comprehensive understanding of research practice and data flow throughout a large healthcare institution. Experience in multiple research functions within a large healthcare institution. Must be assertive and possess excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills (presentation, negotiation, and persuasion skills). Strong writing skills (presentations, proposals, reports, minutes) are required in order to document and communicate project activity. Time management and organizational skills, along with the ability to make quick and concise decisions are required to effectively carry out job responsibilities. Must be able to facilitate others in a team setting, work through difficult issues and bring groups to consensus. The applicant must have the knowledge of the research practice and research applications in order to develop process flow requirements and, in turn, implement these requirements into existing practice sites. Experience with word processing tools, database tools, spreadsheet, and presentation packages is required. Must be flexible to work in a variety of work environments (i.e., ambiguous, structured, consensus driven). Typically six months to one year orientation and on-the-job experience is required to obtain a detailed understanding of the assigned research applications and a broad overall knowledge of the designated area’s applications which are necessary to function at a fully competent level. Supervisory experience. Demonstrated skills in project management facilitation, leadership, time management and education. Handles multiple complex projects across oversight groups.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $23.48-34.10/ hour.
