Job Description

Fairmont El San Juan Marketing Director shapes and executes an overall marketing strategy. Communicates this strategy to the marketing team, the hotel staff and other business units. Coordinates with sales team in order to ensure alignment of marketing and sales strategies. Evaluates past programs/events and develops new programs in order to generate revenue and meet or exceed goals. Must provide support for all marketing and social events as required. Responsible for assisting the Marketing Department in general day-to-day marketing tasks as well as implementing the social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase revenueFairmont El San Juan Marketing Director shapes and executes an overall marketing strategy. Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Position is based on-property, but must be able to travel as required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night, weekends and holidays based on hotel’s entertainment and guest activity programming.


  • Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry and its various distribution channels: OTA’s, Travel Consortia, Trade Media.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required by special events and business needs.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and can effectively perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
  • Coordinate with marketing operations and other site marketing programs on new initiatives to increase production in channels.
  • Identify trends when production is not meeting revenue budget expectations and implement solutions. Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media platforms’ best practices.

Education & Skills

  • College graduate or equivalent industry experience. 5-7 years’ experience in a senior role within luxury resort hotel segment.
  • Fully bilingual in English/Spanish – Strong writing skills in both languages and ability to professionally edit copy for advertising and digital media applications
