More About This Role
Working as a Chocolate Research & Development (R&D) In-service trainee at the home of Cadbury in South Africa, you will work with some of our biggest brands including Cadbury Dairy milk, Lunch Bar, PS, Chomp, Bubbly, Whisper, Tumbles and Astros among many others. The team are responsible for delivering new product innovations and building on our world-renowned brands. You will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a highly skilled team, you will work on a variety of different products from Dairy Milk to Lunch bar and a wide range of technologies across cocoa processing, chocolate making, moulding, and wrapping.
During your time you will:
- Build expertise in a wide range of equipment and technologies, utilising database programs and supporting our drive for modelling and simulation.
- Support the implementation of breakthrough technologies, commissioning new equipment, supporting Factory acceptance testing and Process Validation.
- Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement within the Pilot Plant and R&D.
- Build project management skills through on the job learning.
What you need to know about this position:
You will initially be based within the Pilot Plant & Facilities Team as part of the SSA BU product team.
- Training in cocoa, chocolate making and depositing technologies.
- Work in advance of trials with product/process developers to assist in trial planning.
- Build technical knowledge and equipment expertise executing trials with product/process developers
- Support category growth and CAPEX projects.
- Build project management experience

Education / Certifications:
Currently enrolled for either Chemical Process Technology or Analytical Chemistry course where a practical component is needed to complete these qualifications.
