Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development, the Executive Assistant serves to enhance executive’s effectiveness by providing information management support, project management support, and representing the executive to others. The position is also responsible for administrative tasks such as maintaining correspondence and schedules, taking minutes for meetings, and managing office expenses.

Job Duties

  • Assist the Vice President in various capacities as liaison with potential and current students, faculty, administrators, and external clients and constituents.
  • Maintain mail, email, phone calls, walk-ins and other personal and electronic correspondence on behalf of the Vice President.
  • Assist the Vice President with correspondence, calendaring, community engagement, and meeting minutes.
  • Develop and maintain personnel, financial, statistical, and other important records.
  • Create and assist in collection, organization, verification, and interpretation of information for various reports and projects.
  • Process purchase order and requisitions, order supplies and publications.
  • Maintain, review and edit content web pages for the Economic and Workforce Development Division.
  • Assist in coordination of all areas of Economic and Workforce Development grant initiatives.
  • Assist in regional community economic development efforts.
  • Manage projects in support of efforts and initiatives to promote and grow the Economic and Workforce Development Division.
  • Maintain and coordinate the vice president’s calendar and travel schedule.
  • Coordinate the preparation and logistics for the Vice President’s meetings by attending meetings, preparing and distributing meeting agendas and drafting of minutes.
  • Receive and respond to requests for speaking engagements, telephone inquiries, and incoming mail.
  • Arrange and prepare all travel and conference activities, workshops, tours, and special events.
  • Adhere to RCAM schedule and inclement weather policies, which may differ from other NESCC schedules and/or closures.
  • Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of experience providing administrative support in a multi-office business or higher education environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Conversational ability or fluency in a second language

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems.
  • Understanding of senior-level administrative office procedures in a confidential setting.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with constituents with varying levels of education and experience.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks.
  • Dependable with the ability to work unsupervised.
