About The Role
The intern role will be exposed to all facets of mechanical engineering and will report to the engineering manager. This includes the efficient and prompt submission of professional and competitive tenders/bids for the supply of metal and fabricated items as well as structural steel projects.
Learning how to review project specifications, and material take-offs, develop project solutions that deliver value, identify cost-effective manufacturing processes, calculate labor costs, material costs, and other input costs, develop manufacturing and delivery programs, and package professional bid documentation are the main activities related to the role.
Key Experiences that you will be exposed to:
Actively interact with and develop connections with consulting engineers.
Create engineered mechanical solutions with added value for clients and projects.
Give cost projections for both conventional and unconventional metal options.
Prepare engineering designs, estimates for prices, and budgets.
support and/or contribute to engineering design for sales managers and production peers.
Participate in activities related to client relationship management.
Contribute to the evaluation of contracts, quotes, and tenders for large projects.
With a focus on the technical requirements in contract documents, contribute to contract evaluations, contract negotiations, and contract administration for significant projects.
Requirements:
Excellent analytical skills
Good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at alllevels.
Broad technical background in areas such as CAD design systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and/or electro-mechanical design and control system development
Work well as a member of a team and must adapt well to a changingenvironment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and a desire to broaden skills andexperience.
