Reporter – Freelancer

We’re seeking a talented journalist to expand our coverage of the cryptocurrency industry. Reporting to the Editor, you’ll join a dynamic team that values curiosity, motivation, and adaptability. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cryptocurrency and skilled in storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging long-form explainers and news-driven articles for CryptoManiaks based on daily and weekly trends
• Demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge in cryptocurrency and Web3, with the ability to communicate complex topics in an accessible way
• Utilize social media and other platforms to quickly research crypto stories and leads, presenting them in a clear and comprehensive manner
• Report on emerging themes, technological advancements, market movements, results, and price changes, providing context to breaking news related to crypto
• Conduct feature and profile interviews, write in-depth content, and delve deeply into subjects
• Continuously update evergreen content with the latest information, graphics, and news angles
• Due to the scope of news reporting, responsiveness is required during specific times. These times are determined based on project requirements and directed by the designated point of contact, which may include the Editor, Editor-in-Chief, or Head of Content

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of editorial experience, with a genuine interest in the cryptocurrency industry
• Proven experience in news reporting on the crypto market, accompanied by a portfolio of published long-form pieces
• The ability to break down complex crypto topics into engaging, shareable content without relying heavily on AI tools
• Familiarity with navigating multiple social media platforms to identify story ideas and emerging trends
• Capability to research and write original stories as well as longer-form features
• Ability to identify key players in the cryptocurrency industry and secure interviews with them
• Ability to work at specific times as requested by the designated point of contact
