THE OPPORTUNITY
KRAFTON Americas is looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our team! Situated in the vibrant city of El Segundo, CA, the KRAFTON Americas office represents the center of our Americas publishing, creative, and general operations efforts where we support both local and overseas development teams. You may know us as the developers and publishers of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, The Callisto Protocol, and Subnautica to name a few. Our stellar studios based across the globe include PUBG Studios, Striking Distance Studio, Unknown Worlds, Neon Giant, KRAFTON Montréal, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES
- System Development & Maintenance:
- Collaborate with other engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable systems such as game account management and authentication protocols.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to established coding standards and best practices. Ensure system reliability and performance through thorough testing and debugging.

- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to implement new features and improve existing systems.
- Participate in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and technical planning to contribute ideas and solutions.
- Code Quality & Testing:
- Develop and execute unit tests and participate in integration testing to ensure high-quality software.
- Assist in code reviews and offer constructive feedback to help improve the codebase and maintain high-quality standards.
- Learning & Growth:
- Continuously learn and grow in technical knowledge, tools, and frameworks relevant to the role.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and contribute to improving development processes within the team.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably with experience in Golang or another modern programming language.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) and AWS services is preferred but not required.
- Experience with authentication standards (OAuth, JWT) is a plus.
- Experience with JVM languages is a plus
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to write efficient, maintainable code and debug issues effectively.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Ability to analyze logs and identify root causes of issues
- Experience in taking immediate action to resolve problems in live services
- Team Collaboration:
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams and contribute to technical discussions.
- Bilingual in English and Korean, with the ability to communicate effectively with HQ in Korea.
- Problem Solving:
- Eagerness to solve complex technical challenges and continuously improve the functionality and performance of systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment
Location: Bellevue, WA or El Segundo, CA preferred. Remote is available for the right candidate.
