Job Description
- Shift: Days – 10 hours, 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto, CA
- Compensation: $70 to $88 per hour
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ medical conditions and histories, conduct physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests to diagnose surgical conditions and determine the need for surgery.
- Perform surgical procedures, which can include but are not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, colon surgeries, and various other abdominal, breast, and soft tissue surgeries.
- Explain the surgical procedure, potential risks, and alternatives to patients, obtaining their informed consent before surgery.
- Prepare patients for surgery, which may involve prescribing preoperative medications, providing instructions for fasting, and ensuring patients are in optimal health for the procedure.
- Perform surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and following proper surgical techniques and protocols.
- Monitor patients in the postoperative period, providing appropriate care, managing pain, and addressing any complications that may arise. Collaborate with other medical specialists, including anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other surgeons, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct postoperative follow-up appointments to assess patients’ recovery and address any issues or complications that may arise.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
- At least 1-2 years related experience.
- MUST have wound care certification in submission to be considered
Licenses and Certifications
- CA-RN (Registered Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
