What’s expected of you?
DeterTech is seeking a skilled and attention to detail-oriented Production Laboratory Technician to join our Production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for product manufacturing of Forensic Marking products; along with other job responsibilities of sample preparation, testing, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role is crucial in delivering Forensic Marking products fit for purpose and supporting the broader objectives of the Manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing
- All aspects of manufacture of forensically coded products using the automation machine and by hand.
Sample Preparation
- Prepare and process QC / R&D samples for analysis following standard operating procedures.
Testing & Analysis
- Conduct routine laboratory tests with precision.
- Record and document data accurately, ensuring all information is maintained for traceability.
Equipment Maintenance
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Identify and address technical issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Safely handle hazardous materials and manage proper waste disposal procedures.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate effectively & Direct reporting into the Production Manager to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Report findings and results to the Production Manager and other stakeholders.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with laboratory equipment or processes.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Technical Expertise: Proven knowledge of laboratory techniques, testing procedures, and instrumentation.
- Education: Certification (HNC / HND or A-level) in a relevant field (e.g., laboratory technology, chemistry).
- Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting, including equipment maintenance, data analysis, and testing.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to following protocols and ensuring data accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical challenges independently.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
