packets, managing vendor relations, overseeing product approvals, and assisting with visual
merchandising directives. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to
detail, and the ability to collaborate with buyers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure the
success of private-label initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in all stages of development for private label jewelry, fashion accessories, and cold weather accessories. This includes being in all product development meetings with vendors and buyers and strategizing with the teams.
- Create trend decks and quarterly trend packets with the designer for private label vendors and communicate to vendors in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the private label design director on inspiration and trends for cold weather and accessories.
- Book meeting rooms and send calendar invites.
- Check in packages, & set up samples, printouts, and boards for meetings.
- Pack and ship samples, boards, and bust forms as needed.
- Organize and tray monthly buys by vendor and brand, ensuring all purchases are accurately tracked.
- Complete fit notes within a few days of buy submissions and assist in product assortments by price point for buyer review.
- Manage daily approvals for jewelry, cold weather, and accessories.
- Review and organize design, pre-production (PP), and top-of-production (TOP) samples.
- Maintain a one-year backstock of samples and ensure proper storage on sample racks and in designated areas in an organized fashion.
- Assist the Director of Exclusive Brand Accessories with private label packaging, RFID updates, and new brand developments.
- Fulfill Southern Living Magazine sample and photography requests.
- Create monthly directives for private label brands, working with Visual Directors for approval and posting.
- Design visual merchandising directives using Canva and submit for approval.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure quality standards in product approvals and packaging.
- Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office, and presentation software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
- Understanding of trend forecasting, product development, and visual merchandising.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced work environment with evolving priorities.
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Design, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in product development, merchandising, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with jewelry, fashion accessories, or soft goods development is a plus.
