About The Estia Centre
The Estia Centre is a leader in learning and development for teams who support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We are a City and Guilds Assured provider of a wide range of development programmes coproduced in partnership with our clinical subject matter experts across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and learning disability and autism subject matter experts. Together we aim to develop the confidence, competence and skills of local, regional and national support for staff and teams through our provision of open courses, bespoke and tailor-made learning programmes.
Flexible Working
In this role you will be able to work Monday to Friday in the time frames from 9-5, giving you the very best of good work life balance. We are happy to discuss any flexible working requirements at the interview.

When not working from home, our team is based in the CTC at the Maudsley Hospital.
Job Overview
We are seeking a learning and development professional with extensive practical experience in supporting adults with a learning disability to join our team so that we can continue making a real difference to the health and lives of people with learning disabilities and autistic adults
At the Estia Centre we aim to inspire a committed, passionate and competent workforce by providing a wide range of quality-driven, specialist and expert-led, learning, development and research opportunities. The Estia Training Officer will be responsible for designing, developing and facilitating quality driven, evidenced-based training programmes and curating and creating engaging learning materials. Applicants should therefore have experience of designing and delivering training workshops and facilitating adult learning.
As our learning programmes are often developed and delivered in partnership with clinical subject matter experts and experts with lived experience, the successful candidate will need to be a skilled communicator and networker and be able to develop trusting relationships. They will also need to be flexible, imaginative, creative and motivated to generate novel ideas and put them into practice.
Formal training sponsored by the Estia Centre is available to develop successful candidate’s learning and development knowledge and expertise particularly about learning disability and autism.
About South London And Maudsley
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and are part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. There are very few organisations in the world that have such wide-ranging capabilities working with mental illness. Our scope is unique because it is built on three major foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and training.
SLaM employ around 5000 staff and serve a local population of 1.1 million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient and community services. Currently, provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.
