Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Manual professional with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle and core testing concepts. In this role, you will lead the testing efforts for small to mid-sized projects, make critical testing decisions, and ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. This position requires expertise in both manual testing processes and implementing QA methodologies in dynamic development environments.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and coordinate testing efforts for small to mid-sized projects to meet defined objectives.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive manual testing processes aligned with the software development lifecycle.
  • Make informed testing decisions to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Perform manual testing and use Web Penetration tools to identify vulnerabilities and security issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios and cases.
  • Apply agile Scrum, Kanban, XP, and waterfall methodologies to align testing with development processes.
  • Write complex database queries and validate data integrity.
  • Test cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda).
  • Use API tools like Swagger and ReadyAPI for functional API testing.
  • Implement functional, API, and data test automation using Java or similar programming languages.
  • Provide updates on testing progress and results to manager-level leadership.
  • Work independently or within a Scrum team to achieve testing objectives.
  • Seek and provide constructive feedback for team and personal improvement.
  • Leverage hospitality industry expertise (if applicable) to ensure compliance with industry-specific requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS, Business, Engineering, or Mathematics, with 3-5 years of professional QA experience. Candidates with 5+ years of QA experience without a degree are also welcome.
  • In-depth knowledge of software testing concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience with security testing using Web Penetration tools.
  • Strong decision-making skills for mid-size project testing.
  • Proficiency in agile Scrum, Kanban, XP, and waterfall development frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading testing for small to mid-sized projects.
  • Advanced database knowledge and ability to write complex queries.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage with leadership.

Role-specific Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda).
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (Swagger, ReadyAPI).
  • Expertise in test automation for functional, API, and data testing using Java or similar languages.
  • Previous experience as a test lead on multi-tester projects is a plus.
  • Industry experience in hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory.
