The Manager, Event Logistics & Planning, oversees PMI’s Global Events and Meetings operations across the Europe, LATAM, and North America regions. This role ensures the seamless execution of all meetings and events, whether in-person or virtual, within scope, timeline, and budget. As a hands-on contributor, this people’s leader will champion efficiency, creativity, and excellence, while guiding a high-performing Global Events and Meetings (GEM) team.
This role partners closely with the Manager of Event Logistics & Planning for APAC, MENA, SA, and SSA to drive success across PMI’s global event and meeting portfolio.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Oversee daily operations for complexed events and meetings (attendance size 25 -5000+)
- Ensure compliance with PMI’s event processes, policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide operational and strategic oversight and guidance on event design and execution while adhering to budgets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on goals and deliver exceptional events.
- Collaborate to define long-term strategies to identify new opportunities, trends, and innovations in event operations.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate attendee experiences.
- Ability to confidently and effectively engage with executive leaders, including presenting complex information, influencing decision-making while fostering collaborative relationships.
- This role at times will be required to plan and execute a PMI meeting or event.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours and weekends.
- Above job duties posted are not all inclusive and may shift.
Role Qualifications
- 10+ years of comprehensive end to end experience in event management, including logistics, registration, and exhibits/sponsorship. Knowledge of event programming a plus. Industry certifications such as CMP, CMM, PMP, CAPM are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of global event logistics and regional differences.
- Strong interpersonal and professional presence with capability to adapt communication style to align with priorities/expectations while managing information with confidentiality.
- Proven leadership in managing high-performing global teams.
- Excellent multitasking and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Robust budgeting and financial management expertise.
- Strong contract negotiations and vendor management.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Up to 25% domestic and/or international travel
