Job Summary
The Preceptor is a member of the Care Advantage team under the supervision of VP, Human Resources. The Preceptor is responsible for overseeing the educational excellence, knowledge base and ongoing educational growth of caregivers across the organization.
As with all positions, the Preceptor adheres to all Federal, State, Local and Company policies and regulations. This position promotes and supports the Company’s core values of Compassion, a positive/can-do Attitude, Respect and Excellence in all interactions and communications.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Review all caregiver educational programs to ensure they meet with minimum expectations set forth by the regulatory agencies and captures the overall Company culture, acrynyms and lingo; provide helpful feedback and suggestions to better the programs.
- Create quizzes, tests and homework assignments to ensure knowledge is understood.
- Meeting with caregivers that completed the online portion and complete skills check offs; sign off on certification that these hours were completed.
- Work with clinical and direct leadership to develop the Preceptor program as appropriate for current and assumed future state of the organization; adjusting as needed.
- Reviews and calls a weekly list of new hires to form connections with the caregivers, offer additional clinical education services, setup meetings for future one-on-one trainings and gather data on how their onboarding process has been and if they feel equipped to care for those in need.
Requirements
- Must process an active Virginia Registered Nurse license; multi state a plus
- Minimum of 3 years in a clinical educational role
- Ability to use and navigate an online educational portal with ease
- Ability to effectively collect quality, compliance and attendance data
- Comfortable working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of an organization
- Excellent presentation/time management/organizational skills
- The ability to successfully problem-solve challenges within the educational program and with caregivers
