Job Summary

The Senior/Lead Procurement professional will take a key role in managing procurement activities for large-scale EPC projects. This individual will oversee procurement strategy, contract negotiations, vendor management, and supplier performance, ensuring alignment with project timelines and cost objectives. This position requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in managing procurement processes, resolving contractual issues, and driving efficiency across the procurement lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with project and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure effective integration with project scopes and schedules.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the procurement department.
  • Partner with project teams to establish procurement budgets and track expenditures to ensure compliance with cost control objectives.
  • Identify procurement risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, protecting the company from financial, legal, and operational risks.
  • Work with project teams to resolve contract disputes and ensure the execution of contractual obligations.
  • Approve purchase orders and ensure procurement decisions contribute to overall project cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor communications. Ensuring all documentation is filed and accessible for audit and regulatory purposes.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports for senior management, detailing progress, issues, and key performance metrics.
  • Negotiate, review, and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring they are clear, enforceable, and aligned with project needs.
  • Oversee the administration of procurement contracts, including scope changes, extensions, and renewals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure high-quality standards and contractual compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements during procurement activities.
  • Stay current with relevant industry trends, regulatory changes, and procurement best practices.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead value engineering initiatives for procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of overall procurement experience, with 3-5 years of recent experience in an EPC environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management, procurement best practices, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven experience negotiating and managing contracts for projects of varying sizes, including small, medium, and large-scale, complex initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time-sensitive project objectives.
  • Proficient with procurement software and systems. Preferred experience with Sage Intacct software.
