The Opportunity

The Fitness & Wellness Department at Eastlink Centre is looking for individuals with customer service and weight room experience. You will oversee the Weight Room by maintaining cleanliness, and order, and implementing Policies and Procedures. The Weight Room Attendant must have superior customer service skills, enthusiasm and pride. Strong values in the areas of community and respect are essential and help us to achieve our vision of each day creating a positive and enjoyable experience.

Responsibilities

Strong values in the areas of health, safety and customer respect are required.

  • Understand and follow Eastlink Centre’s Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure the environment is safe for patrons by circulating and pro-actively monitoring for safety concerns
  • Be attentive to assisting patrons, feel comfortable using and demonstrating all equipment
  • Demonstrate customer service skills by being enthusiastic and personable while professionally engaging with patrons
  • Most important attributes: integrity and pride
  • Tidy weight room and clean equipment

You Bring

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and exchange appropriate information with staff, and guests
  • Exceptional customer service focus, and high level of verbal, written and listening skills
  • High school Diploma, Valid Standard First Aid/CPR and Current fitness certification is an asset
  • Able to work with patrons of varying demographics
  • Proven ability to be proactive and work without supervision
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to embrace change

Hours

Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Compensation

The rate of pay is in accordance with the CUPE Collective agreement, Weight Room Attendant, and will be $23.65 per hour.
