About The Role

The Inclusion & Belonging Strategist is a strategic and experienced thought partner on the Inclusion & Belonging team at Gap, Inc. This leader will have experience designing, implementing, and managing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategies and priorities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in talent, change management, and advisory support. The leader will partner with the Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer and other stakeholders to integrate this work into our business, people, and culture strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a strategic thought leader to the Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer, Inclusion & Belonging team, and other stakeholders
  • Co-design, implement, and track the Inclusion & Belonging strategy and progress in partnership with the Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer to ensure it aligns with the organization’s Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Develop an Inclusion & Belonging dashboard to measure, track, and report progress
  • Stay abreast of trends, research, and best practices to inform strategies and initiatives
  • Review and analyze data that can be turned into usable information to inform Inclusion & Belonging strategies
  • Lead cross-functional projects to address systemic inequities and promote equity and inclusion across the organization

Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Sociology, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCDP, CDP) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and scale initiatives across multiple brands/groups
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience leveraging raw data and turning it into information that can be used when designing brand strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a growth mindset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously

Salary Range: $175,100 – $232,000 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
