As a senior member of the Network Technical team, this role will be responsible for the implementation of stable, compliant and capable processes into the DPS Internal Manufacturing Network and for meeting projects FPO’s of capacity, product cost, budget and timeline. Within this leadership scope will be a talent development strategy that both delivers the project and ensures continuity of knowledge transfer to manufacturing operations whilst leveraging expertise developed throughout the existing manufacturing.

Summary

The Sr Manager, Orthopaedics Supply Chain Last Mile plays a pivotal role in enabling capital-efficient, profitable, and compliant growth for a $9 Billion per year Orthopaedics business through supporting improved forecast accuracy and effective asset management globally. This position will play a key role in deploying the Global Orthopaedics Last Mile Operating Model across the top Orthopaedics markets globally, driving operational performance to support profitable growth. Additionally, it coordinates programs, processes, and organizational capabilities to achieve business objectives related to Planning and Cash Flow Management, collaborating extensively with regional and global supply chain, commercial, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Last Mile Operational Model Deployment

Lead Improvement Projects for Forecast and Inventory Models: Drive initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy and improve the utility and application of inventory entitlement models. Focus on achieving better service levels and optimizing cash flow.

  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to increase forecast accuracy, maximising advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
  • Drive the enhancement of inventory entitlement models to better balance service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate forecast and inventory model improvements into broader supply chain strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of changes on Planning Metrics (MAPE/BIAS/FVA) and cash flow, using insights to make continuous improvements.
  • Develop and document standard methodologies for forecast and inventory management processes to ensure scalability and sustainability across Orthopaedics Markets.

Support the Deployment of New Last Mile Capabilities: Introduce and implement Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Asset Management capabilities. Enable the region to pursue capital-efficient, profitable growth while strengthening alignment with strategic goals.

  • Enable proactive set management processes to improve asset utilization and align inventory strategies with market demands.
  • Facilitate the integration of Business Planning (IBP) and Asset Management capabilities to create robust workflows and enhance decision-making.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to align new last-mile capabilities with overarching strategic objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed capabilities, providing insights to drive continuous improvement and support profitable growth.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Technical, or Operations subject areas required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Planning, S&OP, Demand Planning, or Inventory Management or other Business roles.
  • Strong analytical capability to understand sophisticated demand planning topics, identify patterns and drivers, and implement data-driven changes to improve forecast accuracy and reliability.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and decision-making skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies in a complex, matrix environment.
  • People leadership skills, including the ability to develop and lead diverse teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Proven expertise in process management and leading cross-functional global projects.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (preferred).
  • Demonstrated financial acuity, with the ability to link operational decisions to business financial outcomes, including cost optimization and capital efficiency.
