Legal will be responsible for planning and managing the legal strategies of the VFS Global group, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, overseeing non-litigation matters, intellectual property rights, and litigation, and providing advisory services while managing the Legal department.

Strategic Leadership and Compliance
- Establish goals and a vision for the Legal Department, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s objectives.
- Uphold VFS Global’s anti-compliance regulations, guiding and training legal team members to maintain ethical and legal standards.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and preparing reports to demonstrate compliance.
- Supervise litigation management, coordinating with stakeholders and external advocates to ensure effective case management.
- Ensure a strong focus on contracts to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
- Drafting & vetting of commercial contracts and international contracts within Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Provide all legal assistance and advice on registration & protection of the Company’s Intellectual Property such as trademarks, patents, copyrights.
Legal Management and Advisory
- Manage legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, policy drafting, and documentation, to safeguard the company’s legal position.
- Negotiate, draft, vet, and finalize contracts and agreements, managing the contract lifecycle to ensure legal accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Offer legal opinions and advice to Business Teams, providing guidance on complex legal matters and ensuring compliance.
- Provide legal assistance on the registration and protection of intellectual property, safeguarding the company’s intellectual assets.
- Directly manage legal matters assigned by the Board of Directors, demonstrating strong legal acumen and strategic decision-making.
Assess legal risks, review ongoing cases, and provide risk management advice to proactively address legal challenges.
Team Management & Succession Planning
- Ensure the professional development of the team and provide necessary training.
- Create and maintain a robust talent pipeline to ensure succession planning (1:2 ratio).
Environment, Social & Governance
- Oversee corporate governance within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational principles, policies, and regulations.
- Promote judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organization’s environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.
- Drive the organization’s sustainability initiatives, working towards achieving established targets.
