Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Management Posting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate posting of payments, denials, and adjustments from Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance payers. The RCM Posting Specialist must possess critical thinking skills and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance payer payment methods to correctly record contractual adjustments based on payer contracts or government regulations. In addition, the RCM Posting Specialist must demonstrate proficiency with billing systems to ensure all functionality is utilized for the utmost efficient processing of payments, adjustments and denials.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for payment entry within Electronic Health Record.
• Responsible for correcting, completing, and processing payments, adjustments and denials for all payer codes.
• Perform follow-up with insurance companies on missing remits.
• Assist Finance in reconciling deposits with Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) and paper checks.
• Assist with posting audit related information
• Attend provider meetings/workshops when needed.
• Notify RCM Director of any discrepancies, trends, or payment issues identified through the posting process

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience specific to behavioral health billing
• Possess a thorough understanding of behavioral health billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers and have worked closely with insurance claims representatives in resolving payment issues.
• Knowledgeable in Medicaid, CMS, and commercial insurance guidelines and coding policies.
• Understanding of current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Computer skills – EMR (KIPU specifically) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) to write and update notes and generate reports.
• Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
