Role Overview
We are seeking an IT Support Specialist who is as passionate about education as they are about technology. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our students and staff have seamless access to the tools they need to succeed. You’ll be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and empowering educators to leverage technology effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Tech Advocate: Provide day-to-day IT support for staff, students, and faculty, ensuring minimal disruption to educational activities.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage, monitor, and maintain school networks, servers, and devices, keeping systems secure and up to date.
- Troubleshooting Pro: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly and efficiently.
- Classroom Support: Assist teachers in integrating technology into their lessons, including setting up equipment and training on educational software.
- System Updates: Oversee updates and patches for operating systems, applications, and security tools to ensure smooth operation.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage IT assets, including procurement and lifecycle maintenance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, incidents, and resolutions to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in IT support, preferably within an educational or non-profit environment.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows and macOS environments, networking concepts (LAN/WAN), and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical users.
- Problem-Solving Aptitude: Analytical thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT challenges.
