Job Description:
As a Front Office Medical Receptionist with Medical Assistant responsibilities, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a crucial role in their overall experience at our clinic. Your responsibilities will include managing front desk operations, performing medical assistant duties, and ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and Triaging Patients: Warmly welcome patients, assess their needs, and guide them through the initial stages of their visit.
- Data Entry: Accurately input patient information and maintain up-to-date records.
- Appointment Management: Confirm patient appointments, schedule follow-ups, and handle any changes or cancellations.
- PDMP Checks: Perform daily checks of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Medical Assistant Duties: Conduct urine drug screens (UDS), perform blood draws, and assist with other medical tasks as needed.
- Front Desk Duties: Manage all necessary front desk functions including answering phones, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
- Documentation and Billing: Assist with documentation of patient interactions and perform some billing tasks as required.
- Fax Communications: Respond to and manage fax communications promptly and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Healthcare Background: Previous experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with medical documentation requirements.
- Experience: 1-2 years of medical office experience required, with a strong preference for front desk experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. Ability to exercise initiative and effective problem-solving.
- Self-Starter: Must be self-directed, team-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy laws.
